Description

These Bear Pancakes are not only delicious but also fun to create! With a simple pancake recipe and creative presentation, you can easily transform your pancakes into an adorable bear face. It’s the perfect way to brighten up breakfast for kids or anyone who enjoys a bit of whimsy in their meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Chocolate chips (for eyes and nose)
  • Banana slices (for ears and mouth)
  • Maple syrup (for drizzling)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pancake batter: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  2. Cook the pancakes: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet to form the main bear face pancake. For the ears, pour two smaller rounds of batter above the main pancake to form bear-like ears. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.

  3. Assemble the bear face: Once the pancakes are cooked, arrange them on a plate. Place the larger pancake at the bottom for the face, and stack the two smaller pancakes on top for the bear’s ears. Use banana slices for the bear’s ears and mouth. Add chocolate chips for the eyes and nose.

  4. Serve and enjoy: Drizzle the pancakes with maple syrup and optionally top with whipped cream for added decoration. Serve hot!

Notes
